The department has three front line Advanced Life Support (ALS) Rescues, staffed with two Firefighter EMT-Cardiac Technicians, and three ALS rescues in reserve status. Rescue 1 and Reserve 5 are located at Station 1 on Broadway, Rescue 2 and Reserve 6 are located at Station 2 on Bullocks Point Avenue, and Rescue 4 and Reserve 3 are located at Station 4 on Wampanoag Trail.
Operating procedures require an Engine or Ladder Company respond along with the Rescue Company on EMS calls. Each fire company is equipped with an Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) monitor, and Advanced Life Support cardiac medications. Members are trained to the EMT-Basic or EMT-Cardiac level. All companies carry a Nextel cell phone for communicating with the area hospitals.
